If you’ve been following all season, then you might remember my easy pot casserole. VERY GOOD. I even do it during non-Thanksgiving! It has been common for almost ten years and I know many of them do it every year.
I wanted to make a fun, decadent version as well. Mainly because someone like my mother will never do the easy version. Ha!
In this green bean casserole, we make our own cream of mushroom sauce and use green beans that retain their shine. I love it, because the only thing that really doesn’t matter about a green bean casserole (read: using green or canned beans) is that green beans can get mushy.

These green beans are always fresh. Mushroom Parmesan cheese is very delicious. It is not too heavy and the beans are shallow. Correct number!
I’ll be the first to tell you that I sometimes use fried onions this time of year. It’s actually pretty cool and requires very little work. Since I’m showing you how to do this from scratch, I wanted it to be real money. If you like, you can make buttermilk french fries and fry the onions under the grill. You won’t be able to stop eating while making this casserole.
There’s not a ton of choice here, but I have to say that some of these are good and taste good, except that the onions are a little off.
