Thanksgiving is coming up, which means most of us will spend more time cooking in one day than we normally spend in a week (or month!). I love cooking, so preparing Thanksgiving dinner is something I look forward to, but cleaning disgusts me. We have an open kitchen/dining/living room, which means that when it’s time to sit down for dinner, the massive mess in the kitchen will be on display for all to see. As a result, I’m always trying to clean up a lot of cooking mess

That’s why I’ve started using more and more recipes in my Thanksgiving side dishes over the last few years. And by “side dishes” I actually mean everything except the turkey! I do almost all of the prep work on Thanksgiving the day before or the morning of, so all the pots, pans, and measuring spoons can go in the dishwasher and be put away before guests arrive. Things are then heated in casseroles or cooked in serving dishes so the kitchen isn’t messy when we sit down to eat. This is great!
