I smoke a turkey every year for Thanksgiving. I always cook my turkey with this roasted turkey stock as well as turkey stock for best results. For every roast turkey you need a roast turkey bottle. This sauce is easy to make and adds so much flavor and tenderness to your chicken.
Apple Spice Turkey Brine Recipe
This recipe contains ingredients that are readily available at the grocery store, including salt, brown sugar, apple juice, garlic, pepper, citrus, fresh parsley, and fresh rosemary.
Place all ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook for a few minutes until the salt and sugar dissolve into the liquid. Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool to room temperature. Put the turkey in a bag and put it in the refrigerator, and after it has time to rinse, start smoking the turkey.
I highly recommend roasting your turkey before smoking it. The brine does two things: it adds flavor to the turkey, as well as additional moisture. That extra moisture helps keep the turkey from drying out during smoking.

The twinned turkey has no more time for smoke. In my experience, I find that a butchered turkey usually cooks at the same speed as a whole turkey, or sometimes even faster.
